eBeam Interactive: stylus solution enhances digital presentations

(Ahrensburg, January 2005) The popular Legamaster eBeam products have been boosted by the arrival of a new member to the family. By introducing the portable eBeam Interactive, the specialist for visual communication will - from the start of April 2005 - be introducing a system which will pave the way for greater flexibility and more success when working with digital projectors. With this solution, the eBeam interactive pen assumes the role, not just of a traditional pen, but also that of a computer mouse. As a result, users can move freely about the room, allowing them to concentrate fully on their presentation and their audience.

Conferences, training sessions or seminars often suffer from an unwritten rule: lots of people are talking, and one person has to write down what they are saying. With the innovative Legamaster eBeam systems, you can now make this problem a thing of the past. Because, in keeping with the motto “3 steps, 3 minutes and you’re beaming”, eBeam can turn any whiteboard into a digital workspace at the flick of a wrist, thereby opening up countless opportunities. And any notes, plans or drawings written on this workspace can then be transmitted direct to your PC or laptop in real time, where they can be stored, projected, printed off, edited or even circulated via the Internet or intranet. To send data, users need to have either a USB interface or a wireless Bluetooth connection.

The new Legamaster eBeam Interactive has many additional functions to hand to allow eBeam to be used in conjunction with digital projections. Now, as well as whiteboards, projection screens can also be transformed into digital work spaces. This is thanks to the eBeam interactive pen, a pocket-sized component that forms part of the wireless system. This is because the smart pen acts as a marker on the one hand, capable, for example, of being used to write virtual comments (i.e. without using real ink) directly onto the projected charts. On the other hand, the eBeam interactive pen also performs the tasks of a computer mouse as a navigation tool. Regardless of the PC model in question, there are many things that can be performed on the actual projected surface: for example, applications can be opened, files edited and presentations designed in fascinating fashion. This is possible thanks to a menu with an extensive list of options. The advantage: presenters no longer need to disappear behind larger-than-life screens, nor must they constantly shuffle to and fro between the screen and the PC. Instead, they can maintain a presence at the front of the room. Allowing presenters to keep an eye on their talk and their audience, whilst focussing their efforts on the bare essentials.

The new eBeam Interactive is available in two different models. It comes with a USB interface or a wireless Bluetooth connection. Both sets consist of the eBeam sensor (receiver pod), which places an ultrasonic field over the projection area, an eBeam interactive pen and corresponding software. Anyone who already has the eBeam System 3 but would in future also like to take advantage of the functions offered by the interactive pen will be able to upgrade their system with the eBeam Interactive Companion Kit. This set comprises the eBeam interactive pen and accompanying software.

Functional yet stylish: the new “Legamaster Imagine” design concept

(Ahrensburg, January 2005) When it comes to furnishing conference rooms, design is playing an ever greater role. And that applies to presentation media too. Because, be it a flipchart, a whiteboard or a pinboard: no longer is it enough for any of these items merely to be practical and helpful, they now need to be trendy and presentable too. As part of its new “Imagine” design-and-colour concept, Legamaster has dusted down the much-loved classics once more to develop an entirely new family of products. As a result, it is expected that - from April - customers will be able to choose from an array of new sizes and formats. In addition, coloured components will serve to give frames a designer look.

Whether in the conference room or at a training session: never has it been so easy to reveal your colours. Because the new family of Legamaster flipchart, whiteboard and pinboard models comes complete with a special frame which allows you to insert a coloured plastic strip along one side at the flick of a wrist. In the pinboard model, this coloured accessory appears on the right-hand side of the board, whilst in the whiteboards and flipcharts the strips are inserted along the bottom. And to create a really sophisticated look, these new media in visual communication are even available with an integral strip made of wood. Not only are both versions attractive, they are also functional thanks to a fine groove in the new frame which provides enough room to serve as a tray for whiteboard and flipchart markers. And if anyone also wants to store an eraser, for example, an additional marker tray in the same colour can be attached as required.

“Squared”: that’s the name of the new series incorporating our quadratic-shaped whiteboard and pinboards. The specialist for visual communication is offering these boards in three different sizes: 70 x 70 cm, 90 x 90 cm and 120 x 120 cm. Meanwhile, the new whiteboards and pinboards in the “Extended” series have been inspired by the dimensions of the trendy flatscreens. They are available in the following sizes: 70 x 125 cm, 90 x 160 cm and 120 x 210 cm.

The members of the new product family will be available from around April. But don’t rule out the prospect of more offspring, for Legamaster is planning to extend the family.

A solution that’s really neat!

(Ahrensburg, January 2005) Ideas come and go. No matter. For, with the high-quality accessory from Legamaster, not only can flashes of inspiration and brainwaves be written on the (white) board without problem, they can also be removed again just as quickly. The latest “agent” to be recruited for cleaning whiteboards and planning boards has been developed by the specialist in visual communication and goes by the name of MagicWipe. As if by magic, this handy wipe can make boards squeaky clean once more at the flick of a wrist. Not only will it make boards look as good as the day they were bought, it will also free up a whole load of space for fresh ideas and information.

Media used for visual communication, such as whiteboards and planning boards, have long been part of the everyday office environment. Each day, many people reap the benefits of these handy helpers. Of course, over time the boards are left with noticeable marks. To ensure your beloved piece of equipment offers you many years of pleasure, we recommend basic cleaning every time. It’s a job that can be done with particular speed and ease using the new MagicWipe from Legamaster. Because, moistened with a little water or TZ whiteboard cleaner from Legamaster, this magic assistant will return grubby surfaces back to their rightful state in a matter of seconds. A quick going-over with a dry cloth, and you’re ready to start a clean slate (or board).

In the heat of the moment, you have mistakenly picked up a permanent marker. It’s another job for MagicWipe. Again, with a little water or TZ 7, just one wipe and it’s gone. No fuss, no bother. But what if the MagicWipe gets dirty itself? No problem – the wipe can be washed at cycles of up to 60º C.

Legamaster, a brand from the edding Group, will be introducing the MagicWipe to dealers from the beginning of April. One set consists of two wipes and one dry cloth.

(Ahrensburg, January 2005) What you don’t have, you don’t miss: and it’s with this well-known saying in mind that Legamaster is introducing its TZ14 retractable board marker to trainers, teachers and executives: Legamaster’s first marker without a cap, but with a handy push-button mechanism instead. The advantage of the new “retractable” marker is clear for all to see: it is so easy to use, and requires just one hand. From the start of April, users will no longer need their other hand to remove the cap or put it back on again, but will be able to keep it free to do other things.

With the launch at the beginning of April 2005 of the edding TZ14 retract permanent marker, Legamaster - a brand owned by the edding Group – will be introducing a highly practical solution which training institutes, conference hotels and board rooms alike have surely long been waiting for. Be it on the whiteboard or – thanks to the special, alcohol-based ink - even on flipchart paper, in future your right hand will always know what your left hand is doing. This is because, not only does the new handyman have no removable cap, it also comes complete with a special push-button mechanism. Just as with a ball-point pen, it is possible to extend the tip of the marker by pressing the button on the end of the barrel.

But what happens when your job is done, or the end of the working day beckons? By briefly pressing the trigger housed in the clip with your finger, or by lightly raising the clip itself, the tip is retracted once more. The second of these options is particularly handy for all those who tend to forget things in the heat of the moment. Because, as soon as you attach the marker - complete with its special retract function - to your jacket pocket, the clip is raised and the tip automatically retracts.

The TZ14 retractable board marker has a bullet tip and a stroke width of 1.5 – 3 mm. The edding retract is also available in four different colours: black, red, blue and green. And because the push button of the refillable newcomer matches the colour of the ink, you’ll never get mixed up. What is more, the low-odour ink can even be dry-wiped from whiteboards.
